The Basics

Founded in 2003 by Dr. Candace McDaniel, the Anti-Aging and Longevity Center is a certified substance abuse treatment center and family practice clinic. Located in Dallas, Texas, AALC offers an outpatient program with a holistic approach. Offering medication-assisted detox as well as outpatient substance abuse treatment, AALC utilizes evidence based methods including group and individual therapy.

Treatment and Staff

The substance abuse treatment program at AALC is highly individualized and may include any number of treatment components depending on the initial evaluation and assessment during intake. Medication assisted treatment using Methadone or Suboxone is available to aid clients with the cravings and withdrawal symptoms associated with opiate addiction. Additionally, clients may be prescribed antidepressants and antibiotics as needed.

Clients participate in individual and group therapy, family therapy as well as special groups for pregnant women and mothers, a co-occurring disorder group and educational sessions.

CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) are the main methodologies used by AALC. The 12 steps are not incorporated. Individual sessions typically last an hour while group sessions typically last for two hours. Additionally, alternative medicine treatments such as nutritional testing, dietary supplements and food allergy testing may also be a part of treatment. Holistic approaches are also offered; acupuncture and a detox spa is used to release toxins from the bottom. Each client’s progress is managed very closely and they have access to any number of professional resources or information at any time throughout their treatment.

The staff at AALC consists of Master’s-level psychologists, LCDCs, Advanced Alcohol and Drugs Counselors (AADCs) and a registered nurse. The staff is also fluent in Spanish.

Extras

In addition to their wide range of services and treatments for substance abuse, AALC also offers STD testing and screening for clients and the community for an additional small fee. Referral services for those seeking other forms of treatment beyond those offered at AALC are available upon request.

AALC’s holistic and evidence-based approach to treatment allows for clients to explore both traditional and alternative forms of treatment to receive a well-rounded foundation for recovery. Those seeking a program that is solely structured around their individual needs are well-served, though individuals at risk of relapse or who are looking for a recovery community may prefer a residential program or one that incorporates the 12-steps of recovery.
