Treatment and Staff
Upon arrival at Denver Springs, clients undergo an assessment that determines whether they are suited for the inpatient track, or can be placed in an outpatient program. Out of the assessment information clients are presented with a customized treatment plan.
Within 24 hours of admission clients have a psychiatric evaluation and a medical exam. This also includes clients establishing what their goals are for treatment. Staff is able to make arrangements through each client’s job or school so that they are able to maintain their employment and education after they leave the program.
Each day includes several group sessions. These include process, recreational activities, psychoeducation and family education. The units are divided into categories: mental health, addiction and dual diagnosis. These tracks target specific issues and foster different coping skills and tools. Clients also receive medication management.
In addition to approaches like CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, mindfulness based CBT, and trauma informed care, clients also receive support through a program called Cognit, which is a web based therapy program. In addition, clients in the co-occurring disorder treatment use a program called Good Days Ahead, a Hazelden Co-Occurring Disorder Program. These online programs are provided for clients up to a year after they complete treatment.
Staff includes Master’s-level therapists, CADCs, LPCs, psychiatrists, physicians and nurses.

There is a weekly alumni meeting at the facility. Clients and their families can enjoy a meal together on the weekend.
