Daymark Recovery Services IOP Review

Daymark Recovery Services operates mental health and addiction treatment facilities throughout North Carolina. The range of programs includes adult and adolescent outpatient care, along with adult residential treatment. Daymark offers the adult Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) at every location, with the exception of the residential facility. Treatment includes strength-based and evidence-based approaches that culminate in the Recovery Model. This model includes 12-step support, education and life skills training. 

Treatment and Staff

SAIOP is typically a three month program that consists of at least nine hours of treatment per week. The program has a minimum requirement of three treatment days per week, and of those days there are never more than two days in a row that don’t include a treatment element. 

Every day that a client is in treatment they attend a support meeting of their choosing, which can include AA, NA, SMART Recovery and others. Each treatment track is individualized, and depending on the clients needs, involves a combination of individual and group therapy, life skills and relapse prevention, crisis planning, case management and disease management. Every month clients review their treatment plans with their primary therapist and adjust protocols accordingly. 

Treatment approaches are DBT and CBT. Medication management services are also available. There are gender-specific topics addressed in group therapy, and group options for dual diagnosis clients. Regular drug and alcohol screenings are performed throughout treatment. 

Additional services during the addiction outpatient track include identifying triggers, managing emotions, improving communication, working on family relationships and discovering coping skills. 

The staff at Daymark Recovery Services includes peer specialists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nursing staff, LCSWs, case managers, and LPCs. 

Extras

Daymark Recovery Services provides several specialized treatment programs. This includes telepsychiatry, and a program specifically for women who are dealing with addiction. Women in this program receive interim services at Daymark that includes education and counseling. There are also opportunities for women and their children to receive assistance and treatment placement. 

In Summary

While Daymark Recovery Services does offer outpatient care for all ages, the substance abuse specific program for adults continues along the same path that the residential program offers. The empowerment philosophy that Daymark operates by gives each client a sense of control when dealing with issues surrounding their addiction. The end result are adults who have dealt with addiction, but thanks to the holistic and  person centered approaches, now have the proper tools to deal with their afflictions with a bit more ease.
