Cold Creek Sober Living Review

Cold Creek Behavioral Health is a treatment organization outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. It provides a continuum of care that includes medical detox, residential treatment, outpatient options, aftercare and sober living. The sober living facilities are at three locations in the towns of Kaysville and Holladay. Founded in 2008, Cold Creek Behavioral Health provides a supportive and structured sober living experience that protects clients from relapse. Any client currently participating in either the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is eligible to stay in sober living. The accommodations are also available for individuals that have completed treatment at Cold Creek. Residents can stay for up to one year after finishing IOP.

Accommodations and Amenities

Clients share an 845 square foot two-bedroom apartment with two other residents. The apartments are equipped with twin-sized beds, nice furnishings, plenty of storage, washer and dryer units and a living room with comfortable couches. There are security alarms throughout the building.

Cold Creek sober living offers plenty of amenities including convenient parking, WiFi, cable, a flat screen TV and an on-site volleyball court. Residents receive a gym membership throughout their stay as well as a complimentary one-month bus pass. Each client has access to a safe for their valuables. Each Cold Creek location is near bus lines as well as educational institutions.

Rules and Regulations

Before entering sober living, clients speak with an admissions coordinator to see which facility is best for their situation. In addition, the coordinator can determine how much of the cost will be covered by insurance.

Above all, Cold Creek Behavioral Health seeks to show clients how to live a happy, sober life. As a result, the facility establishes rules and boundaries that support and empower residents to be their best. The facility has a zero tolerance policy for alcohol and substance use. Clients must pass three weekly random drug tests and breathalyzers or they will be forced to leave the facility.

Residents perform daily chores and must pay for and prepare their own meals. In addition, individuals work with case workers to design a continuing care support system. Clients set education, career and life goals, and actively participate in local 12-step meetings a well as a nightly house meeting. The facility also offers aftercare support meetings on a weekly basis.

In Summary

Cold Creek Behavioral Health offers upscale sober living accommodations for clients currently participating in the treatment program as well as individuals who have recently completed the IOP. The facility provides the right mix of support, rules and autonomy necessary for residents to succeed in not only staying sober but in building the self-esteem and momentum they will need in the real world. For anyone seeking a comprehensive curriculum of care that includes a dedication to aftercare and sober living, Cold Creek Behavioral Health is an excellent resource worth exploring.
