The Basics
The Rose Hill Center of Holly, Michigan (a small town in the eastern central region of the state, between Flint and Detroit) is a behavioral health treatment facility that provides a number of services including residential care for those dealing with mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Clients receive customized treatment plans and 12-step support while participating in group and individual therapy, vocational training and recreational activities.
Accommodations and Food
The Rose Hill campus creates a tranquil setting for both clients and their families. The housing facilities are surrounded by woodlands and cover over 400 acres, the center of which is a large, peaceful lake. The home-like residential facility has private and semi-private bedrooms that are fully furnished, some with en suite bathrooms. Rose Hill can accommodate up to 70 clients. There is a large, community dining room where the residents trade off preparing and serving each other meals.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at Rose Hill offers clients with a wide range of mental health issues—like schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, severe depression and more—structured days that consist of groups, education and recreation. There are frequent medication reviews and assessments with staff. The first 30 days is considered the assessment phase where an individualized treatment plan is implemented. Detox is not available through Rose Hill so, if necessary, that process must be completed prior to admission.
There is an emphasis on community support throughout the campus. Clients are strongly encouraged to socialize with others in the program. There are daily group life skills classes, 12-step meetings and psychoeducational sessions. Therapeutic practices include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and other expressive methods. On average, clients stay in the residential program six months to a year, though there is an extended care residential program offered too.
The staff at Rose Hill is very large and is comprised of over 60 people, who provide everything from therapy and medical services to residential support. They are psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, LCSWs, consulting psychologists and LPCs.
Extras
Clients have an opportunity to learn new skills in fields such as animal care, horticulture and housekeeping. The campus also includes a fully equipped workout room. Yoga, music therapy and art therapy are facilitated too.
In Summary
The main goal at Rose Hill Center is for clients to leave the facility armed with the ability to care and provide for themselves through meaningful experiences and solid treatment methods. The clean and safe campus provides a comfortable atmosphere that is certainly conducive to progress with a large support system already in play. Rose Hill Center is a pretty solid resource for adults ready to set a foundation for sobriety and recovery in a structured setting.
