Action Counseling

The Basics

With locations in Aurora and Denver, Colorado, Action Counseling is a small behavioral health facility that provides basic outpatient drug and alcohol treatment to adults. All plans are individualized and cater to both court-ordered and self-referred clientele.

Treatment and Staff

Before beginning, all clients must go through an initial intake and assessment process so staff members can develop their individualized treatment plans. While specifics may vary, each plan works within the structure of individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices, like CBT and DBT. Depending on court stipulations, some clients may be required to attend 12-step meetings but otherwise they are not strictly required. Action Counseling offers dual diagnosis support for clients struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma but those with severe co-occurring disorders need to seek outside help.

The staff at Action Counseling consists of LPCs, LACs and additional state-certified, Master’s-level substance abuse counselors.

Extras

The facility also offers standalone counseling for mental health issues; such as depression, anxiety and trauma, as well as general counseling for life problems and transitions. For clients with DUI/DWI convictions, domestic violence and other related issues, focused group sessions are available.

Overall, Action Counseling is a well-rounded organization that provides addiction treatment to adults through evidence-based care and peer support.
