The Basics

Hopics (Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System) is a Los Angeles based behavioral health treatment facility that offers outpatient care and referrals to low income or homeless individuals and families. Treatment programs include individual and group counseling and for addiction and co-occurring disorders using evidence-based approaches and referral services. In addition, this facility provides primary health care, housing and various community support programs.

Treatment and Staff

Hopics performs an intake for each prospective client that assesses their social, economic and current living situation along with history of substance abuse. The treatment programs are individualized and the facility offers intervention and referrals, in addition to counseling. There are specialty services for pregnant and postpartum women and their children up to the age of five, as well as in-house support groups and connections to the 12-step community.

Therapy approaches include CBT, trauma-informed care and EMDR. There are medication management services in conjunction with relapse prevention and psychoeducational groups that are offered co-ed and gender-specific. Clients schedule individual counseling as needed.

The staff of Hopics is comprised of Master’s-level LCSWs and case managers.

Extras

Additional services at Hopics’ Trauma Resource Center include psychiatric and therapeutic counseling, as well as treatment. Services are available to individuals and families.

Hopics also offers programs for clients who have been involved with the criminal justice or family drug court system. These programs allow for family re-unification and health services. This facility is also able to provide on-site emergency food programs and nutritional counseling, personal care kits, clothing, cleaning supplies and bedding. For the clients participating in any of the programs, childcare and transportation services are also available.
