The Basics

Trinity Health System is a Joint Commission accredited hospital that offers a full array of medical, surgical and clinical services. With care split between two campuses, THS also offers mental health services through Trinity East. Both campuses are located in Steubenville, Ohio. Chemical dependency services are facilitated on an outpatient basis with both daytime and evening hours available allowing for all schedules to be accommodated.

Treatment and Staff

All potential clients are first assessed by the intake staff to help ensure that outpatient care is the best level of treatment to meet their needs. Detox services are available for three to five days in the hospital. An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is available and clients can opt for daytime or evening sessions, both lasting six to eight weeks in duration. The daytime program is facilitated Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm. The evening program has sessions scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Adult men and women attend therapeutic activities together in co-ed groups.

Group therapy is the primary method of treatment and are led by CADCs. A range of topics are available, including relapse prevention, development of positive coping skills and psychoeducation. In addition to groups, clients may schedule individual therapy with their primary counselor. Clients may also see a psychiatrist during their treatment for dual diagnosis support or for medication management. During treatment, clients are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings outside of the facility to develop an additional support network.

Extras

Trinity Health System offers many services that go beyond the chemical dependency program. Counselors are knowledgeable about community resources and provide referrals upon request, including to area sober living facilities.

With a diverse range of medical and clinical services available, Trinity Health System offers chemical dependency treatment at its East campus. An IOP track allows clients to attend evening or morning sessions so they can continue meeting their work and life obligations. Each client receives individualized attention and the opportunity to begin their recovery in a safe environment.
