The Basics
As a branch of the the Park Royal Behavioral Health Services Hospital of Fort Myers, Florida, Park Royal Behavioral Health Services, Naples provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for men and women over the age of 18. The IOP has been operational since 2013, and while the program does not incorporate the 12-step framework, clients are treated using evidence-based treatment methods and have access to dual diagnosis support.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Park Royal Behavioral Health Services, Naples is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
All treatment plans are individualized and developed with staff upon admittance. Available only to clients who have already completed an inpatient program or PHP, the Park Royal Naples IOP lasts an average of 12 weeks, but many clients attend for shorter or longer lengths of time, depending upon their individual needs and progress.
During treatment, clients attend group and individual sessions with a counselor who uses CBT. Groups focus on a variety of topics including acceptance, self-esteem, relapse prevention and symptom and anger management. Additional support is available for and development of coping skills.
Royal Park, Naples’ mental health and co-occurring disorders program is only available out of the main Park Royal Location in Fort Myers. However, this track provides treatment five days a week and includes a general daily group session from 9 am to 12 pm and one focusing on co-occurring disorders from 1 to 4 pm. Additional treatment hours are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm. Clients are expected to attend three to five times per week for three hours each day. Apart from supportive therapy clients also get unstructured time for socialization.
Park Royal, Naples staff includes psychiatrists and CSWs. Additionally, medical doctors are available at its main hospital location to address any of its clients’ medical needs.
In Summary
Though only in operation for three years, Park Royal Behavioral Health Services, Naples provides a well-rounded IOP with traditional therapy and self-esteem focused groups. This program is a good option for those stepping down from Park Royal’s residential track, or as a stand-alone option for those looking for flexible treatment that incorporates evidence-based methods and support for co-occurring disorders.
