Acadia: Lawrence Comprehensive Treatment Center

The Basics

Opened in 2008 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the Lawrence Comprehensive Treatment Center provides Essex County with outpatient substance abuse treatment. Lawrence CTC’s program provides Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), as well as group and individual therapy for adults struggling with opioid addiction. While treatment at Lawrence CTC includes basic outpatient treatment services, the program does not follow the 12-step approach.

As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Lawrence Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.

Treatment and Staff

Once enrolled in treatment, each client is assigned to a primary counselor who helps to determine his or her specific needs and develop an individualized treatment plan. All Lawrence CTC clients must attend at least one group and one individual session each week, but may attend more depending upon their required level of treatment. Group topics include instruction in recovery skills and healthy coping skills.

All clients are expected to come to the facility daily for administration of either methadone or Suboxone.

The LCTC employs an on-site medical doctor, registered nurse and Substance Abuse Counselors (SACs).

Extras

Lawrence CTC also prepares its clients for lasting recovery with thoughtful and personalized aftercare planning. Clients are also encouraged to work with their therapist to develop personal goals, and before completing treatment, staff ensure that they are well on their way to achieving these goals.
