Rehab After Work has been providing outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for substance abuse for more than a decade. With over 20 locations throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the organization offers a variety of services to adults and adolescents. There is a specialized young adult program for those who are 18 to 25 and the Rehab After School track is specifically designed to address the needs of teens aged 14 to 18 who are dealing with addiction issues.

In 2014, Rehab After Work was acquired by Pennsylvania-based behavioral healthcare provider Pyramid Healthcare. Since this acquisition, Rehab After Work has been able to provide more mental health services for clients with co-occurring disorders. As a Pyramid Healthcare treatment partner, Rehab After Work is now part of that organization’s treatment continuum.

Treatment and Staff

Typically, clients find themselves at Rehab After Work after completing an inpatient program elsewhere, though this is not required. There is no detox offered, though clients in need can be referred to a nearby Pyramid Healthcare facility. After an initial assessment, clients begin either the Adult IOP or standard outpatient track (available at all locations), the teen program (offered at all locations except Bethlehem) or the young adult program (offered at all locations except Bethlehem, Media, Pottstown and York offices; however, young adults are welcome to join the adult groups).

The most intensive level of care is an individualized Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for clients 18 years and older. The PHP is for those who need structure and intensity in their treatment plan but have a stable home life to help after treatment is completed for the day. PHP operates 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, but is only available at the Daylesford, Pennsylvania location.

All other treatment typically begins at the IOP level, which consists of group and individual therapy three times a week for three hours. These sessions emphasize evidence-based therapeutic methods, including CBT and DBT, as well as holistic treatment practices like art and music therapy. Clients are given an introduction to 12-step recovery, though outside meeting attendance is not required. Clients slowly step down their care to a standard outpatient program, about two hours a week, winding down their overall treatment over the course of four months. The frequency and intensity can vary based on each person’s needs.

The staff includes an MD who serves as the Medical Director, as well as Master’s-level therapists whose credentials include LCSW, CADC and LADC.

Extras

Rehab After Work offers a family program. These appointments are made as requested by the client, family, or counselor during the day or evening hours.

There are also education-based addictions awareness and DUI programs designed for adults struggling with the legal consequences of excessive drug and/or alcohol use. These take place in a small group setting for a duration of 10-hours over the course of several weeks.

In Summary

As an expansive organization, Rehab After Work offers a wide variety of modern recovery options and the benefit of an affiliation with the larger Pyramid Healthcare organization. Clients of all ages can expect individualized IOP based in CBT and evidence-based practices as well as a more intensive PHP for those seeking an alternative to going away to rehab.
