The Basics

Sandhills Comprehensive Treatment Centers are a network of outpatient facilities and treatment centers offering Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) using methadone and Suboxone throughout North Carolina. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.

Treatment and Staff

Sandhills offers treatment specifically for those suffering from opioid addiction using MAT and evidence-based therapy. Depending on their specific needs, clients are prescribed Suboxone, Subutex or Methadone following an initial assessment. The counselor assigned to the client helps initially with administering the medication as well as monitoring dosage, helping clients to treat themselves more independently as they progress through treatment.

The assessment also helps to develop an individualized treatment plan that allows counselors to focus therapeutic sessions on the unique challenges each client faces, aiming to treat the mental, emotional and psychological elements of addiction. Individual sessions are scheduled at least once a week, while group sessions are held at various times throughout the week for the client to attend according to their plan. CBT methodology is implemented in therapy.

The staff at SCTC consists of RNs, physicians, LPCs and LCDCs.

Extras

In addition to MAT, SCTC also offers a referral system. If clients are found to need further treatment beyond outpatient services such as inpatient treatment or support for co-occurring disorders, the staff at the Sandhills Treatment Centers may provide information on alternative treatment programs.
