The Basics

Since 2013, Evolutions Treatment Center has offered substance abuse treatment services in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Evolutions has a 30 to 90 day residential treatment, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and 60-day aftercare, as well as treatment specifically for those of the Jewish faith. Evolutions Treatment Center does not offer detox in-house, but may arrange for clients to detox off-site at a partner facility.

Accommodations and Food

Evolutions Treatment Center houses clients in apartments within a gated community, with 24-hour security and staff, usually two to a room. Each apartment has a full kitchen and LED TV in the living room. The apartment complex comes with a pool, gym and activities room while clients are transported from the apartments to the treatment center, daily.

Evolutions Treatment Center offers clients nutritional education and a healthy diet, courtesy of a trained nutritionist’s weekly classes. Clients are also given a weekly $75 voucher for Publix market and taken to the store to buy their own food. Any additional items must be paid for by the clients, out of pocket.

Treatment and Staff

During a stay Evolutions Treatment Center clients work with clinical psychologists and a staff psychiatrist who can provide dual diagnosis support. Group sessions run Mondays through Fridays, beginning at 8:30 am and concluding at 3:15 pm, with breaks between. Clients also have an individual session per week. Half day treatment is available on weekends while extra activities are planned weekly.

Clients have their choice among different group sessions to individualize their own treatment. Options include CBT, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) and holistic activities such as art, canine and equine therapy. Residents receive instruction on meditation techniques, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, physical fitness training (offered at an extra fee), Tai Chi and yoga (of the Vinyasa, Iyengar, Sivananda, and Ashtanga varieties) as well as relapse prevention. For those who would like their recovery combined with their Jewish faith Evolutions Treatment Center offers a kosher living space, allowing them to observe the Sabbath, including space for prayer, Shabbat home rituals and traditional meals. The IOP meets three times a week for three hours at a time.

Evolutions Treatment Center employs four therapists, two psychiatrists and two licensed psychologists, as well as an acupuncture specialist, a licensed massage therapist, three equine therapy specialists, a doctor of internal medicine and a staff nurse.

Extras

Evolutions Treatment Center also boasts an outdoor grill, pool and fitness studio, basketball court, gaming center and movie theater.

Aftercare offers a weekly one-on-one outpatient meeting and quarterly group check-ins.
