Treatment and Staff
NOVA specializes in clients who have relapsed several times while attempting to get sober, and have usually attended several rehabs prior to admission. The inpatient treatment program is 90 days. Treatment is client focused and individualized offering several individual and group sessions per week. Depending on the clients specific treatment plan, sessions may address past trauma, family issues and delve in the history of the addiction.
Therapy is evidence-based and includes the 12-steps, CBT, DBT, EMDR and a method called The Daring Way, which is an intensive three day therapeutic experience that explores each clients personal feelings of shame surrounding their addiction. Clients also participate in experiential therapies, music and art therapies and daily-guided meditation.
There are gender specific groups available, but more of the program is co-ed. Emphasis on psychoeducation, relapse prevention and identifying triggers are common topics of group sessions.
NOVA employs a number of Master’s-level and certified clinicians including two medical doctors, LCSWs, LPCs and LMFTs.
