The Basics

The Jackie Nitschke Center was founded in 1971 by a small group of volunteers as a halfway house for alcoholics. Over the years it has grown to include residential treatment, a basic outpatient track and a comprehensive Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that incorporate evidence-based treatment methods.

Located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the IOP is based in 12-step methodology and offers a convenient treatment schedule allowing clients to participate in treatment while maintaining their life schedules and commitments.

Treatment and Staff

The IOP offered by JNC is intended for individuals who need structured treatment, but who either do not require residential care or wish to maintain their daily schedule. Treatment includes 18 therapy sessions scheduled evenings throughout the week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.

Treatment begins with an initial evaluation and assessment to develop an individualized treatment plan that dictates the type of treatment and frequency of sessions most beneficial for each individual client. Both individual and group therapy sessions are available, as is family therapy and 12-step recovery groups. All sessions focus on goal setting and clients also participate in educational seminars and basic informational sessions. The methodology implemented during treatment is CBT.

The staff at JNC consists of CSWs, MSWs, CSACs and SACs.

Extras

In addition to the IOP, JNC also has a residential program and sessions scheduled to support those seeking standard outpatient treatment and an aftercare program which entails a relapse prevention group that is held once a week for 16 weeks.

The Jackie Nitschke IOP is an excellent alternative to residential treatment for those who desire structured care but wish to maintain a regular schedule. Through individualized treatment planning and evidence based care, clients develop a solid foundation for recovery and sobriety.
