The Basics
Since the 1970s Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health (CWCMH) has been helping individuals and families with behavioral health and substance abuse issues throughout eastern Washington. Assisting over 20,000 individuals each year, CWCMH is a private, non-profit organization with multiple locations to provide easy access for all clients seeking treatment. Through a variety of outpatient services, CWCMH is committed to helping adult and adolescent clients recover and retain sobriety.
Treatment and Staff
Outpatient treatment is available at CWCMH’s Yakima, Goldendale, Pasco and White Salmon locations and all facilities follow the same protocol. Programming at CWCMH begins with an assessment conducted by a licensed clinician. From there, an individualized treatment plan is created to address the client’s specific needs.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is available, and most treatment plans consist of a combination of individual and group therapy. CBT is regularly utilized and most group therapy sessions have five to 15 clients. The hours a client attends therapy each day varies from person to person but usually ranges one hour a week to eight hours a day, excluding weekends. As far as program length, for most clients, the IOP and outpatient services are offered on an ongoing basis.
CWCMH is not a 12-step based facility, instead choosing to implement more contemporary evidence-based treatment. Integrated dual diagnosis treatment is available, along with continuing care.
The staff at all CWCMH locations consists of LPNs, LPCs, and LADCs/ LDACs. Behavioral health specialists and psychologists are also available at certain locations.
Extras
CWCMH also offers DUI / Deferred Prosecution assistance. It also provides educational seminars for spouses, significant others and family members to help them learn how to better support and understand their loved one’s journey to recovery.
In Summary
As a non-profit organization, Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health has a wide reach, offering a variety of assistance in multiple locations. Its commitment to serving clients with substance abuse issues continues after outpatient treatment concludes. Through educational seminars and continuing care, CWCMH ensures that the client remains healthy and sober with the support of their family and community. By accepting Medicare, private health insurance and providing sliding scale fees, treatment at CWCMH is not only geographically convenient, but also financially accessible.
