The Basics

Port Gardner Bar Recovery, Inc. is certified by the state of Washington to provide outpatient drug and alcohol treatment services to Everett-area communities. Located just a half hour north of Seattle, clients receive individualized treatment plans and addiction education as the main components of recovery. Treatment utilizes evidence-based methods including traditional group and individual therapy.

Treatment and Staff

PGBR follows the six dimensions of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement Criteria to determine treatment plans for clients. Before each plan is developed, clients must go through a one- to two-hour evaluation and assessment to determine which of those criteria best match the individual’s needs. Clients are enrolled into basic outpatient services or referred to another treatment facility if more intensive treatment or detox is required.

Outpatient services include individual sessions scheduled once a week by the client and group therapy at least twice a week. Group sessions are available daily in the mornings and evenings and family therapy may also be integrated into treatment if deemed necessary by the counselor or requested by the client. All therapies utilize CBT methodology. The 12 steps are not integrated into the program, however clients are strongly encouraged to attend community meetings and referrals are given to local chapters by request.

The staff at PGBR consists of CADCs, LPCs and LADCs.

Extras

PGBR also has an Alcohol Drug Information School intended to help clients, family members and community members understand the nature of addiction and chemical dependency. This class explores ways to prevent alcoholism and addiction as well as relapse prevention. Classes are $100 and last from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

In Summary

The outpatient program at PGBR is a basic no-frills program. However, the credentialed staff are committed to evidence-based practices and standardized guidelines ensuring that clients receive the best possible care with enough flexibility to maintain school, work and life obligations.
