The Basics
The Supportive Living programs of Cazenovia Recovery Systems are located in New York state’s Erie and Niagara counties. Apartment buildings nestled in the rural greater Buffalo area offer sober living to male and female residents 18 years of age and older. Residents must have prolonged periods of sustained sobriety but still wish for a stable form of in-house community support for their recovery. Cazenovia Recovery Systems has a long history of successful rehabilitation programs in the upstate New York area and its supportive living programs are no different.
Accommodations and Amenities
The apartments consists of two to three connected bedrooms per unit. The apartments are fully furnished and stocked with all the basic needs in the kitchen including a microwave, stove and refrigerator. Bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with twin and queen beds, depending upon the room, and curtains. Some apartments have computers and printers; all have Internet access. Residents are responsible for all tasks in the home including food shopping and cleaning. All residences are located close to public transportation, schools, places to shop and community residential programs.
Rules and Regulations
Only sober men and women who have successfully completed a residential rehab program are eligible to live in Cazenovia’s sober living homes. Preferential treatment is made for former Cazenovia Recovery Systems inpatient clients specifically. New residents are expected to attend group therapy and individual therapy off-site with Cazenovia LADC counselors, case managers and vocational counselors two to three times per week. This is in addition to group therapy in the homes. Residents are unsupervised but counselors are on call around the clock, if needed.
Residents are invited to participate in the Erie County Social Services SCOPE Program which allows them to work and save the money to put towards transitioning into an independent living situation. There are also recreational therapies, quarterly merit awards, discharge planning and housing referral services. Sober living lasts up to six months with a minimum of 90 days.
Extras
Cazenovia Recovery Systems also provides up to $350 as a security stipend upon successful discharge to put towards independent housing. Residents are encouraged to make friends and use each other as a support system unto their transition. Reflexology treatments are also available on certain days too.
In Summary
Cazenovia Recovery System’s legacy of exceptional care for men and women with substance abuse issues is very impressive. Clients accepted into the supportive living program will have a multitude of resources at their disposal to fully aid them in their transition into independent living and long-term recovery.
