The Basics
The Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission is a nonprofit institution that offers charitable and educational services to the surrounding communities. Incorporated in 1985, the CMP Commission offers substance abuse treatment through a subcontracted agreement with Catholic Social Services (CSS). Outpatient treatment as well as a DUI program and employee assistance programs are available and all treatment protocols are available with payment assistance and affordable cash payment options.
Treatment and Staff
All CMP Commission treatment is non-medicated and requires clients to remain abstinent for the entirety of their stay. Prior to enrollment, individuals must first schedule a bio-psycho-social assessment with an intake coordinator to assess the client’s acuity and presence of any co-occurring disorders. Depending on the client’s assessment, they are placed in either standard outpatient or the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). If accepted, clients then meet with their primary counselor and develop an individualized treatment plan.
All treatment is individualized and the average treatment length for outpatient is four to six weeks—but clients may stay longer or end treatment earlier depending on their unique needs. Clients come into the facility once or twice per week, with IOP clients attending three days per week for two hours per session. Group therapy is facilitated by CADCs and topics include psycho-education, co-dependency and dual diagnosis support. There is no doctor or psychiatrist on staff, so all additional services must be referred out. In addition to group therapy, clients are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings for additional support.
Individual therapy is provided once per week allowing clients to work with their counselors privately to discuss topics that require more personalized attention. Clients may also request family or couples therapy sessions to work on issues in the home to facilitate a recovery-oriented environment following treatment.
Extras
CMP Commission works with a family program group that meets every Tuesday evening. Families attend treatment with other families for 45 minute groups that focus on psycho-education and co-dependency issues. Clients are welcome to attend as well.
In Summary
The CMP Commission provides both basic outpatient treatment as well as an IOP. Clients work with counselors to develop an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to their unique needs and recovery goals. Individual, group and family therapy is offered as well as specialized family programs to treat the whole family system. Clients are provided the space to begin their recovery with a supportive staff and a schedule that is flexible to their needs.
