The Basics
With four locations throughout Santa Barbara County, California, Recovery Ranch has provided structured sober living for four years. The long-term program takes between six and 12 months to complete, and is designed for male clients under 30 who struggle with addiction.
Accommodation and Amenities
The main Recovery Ranch location is in beautiful Santa Ynez. It is comprised of four houses, a barn, swimming pool, chicken coop, putting green, garden, store and sauna. There are two houses in the ranch, each of which is home to 16 men. The rooms are shared, with clients sleeping in bunk beds and sharing two bathrooms. The houses also contain 80” TVs in the living areas, ample storage and laundry facilities. Each home has brand new appliances, polished floors and newly refurbished bathrooms.
The facility in Santa Barbara is a two-home residential property, accommodating 16 and 8 men respectively. Most rooms have bunk beds, but some rooms have two to a room in twin beds. Clients are able to graduate to these rooms once they have established trust within the house. This house is cleaned daily, and has a TV in each living room.
The second house in Santa Ynez is for 10 male undergraduates and graduates. This home is also residential, and includes a chicken coop and an organic garden. The Calzada house in Santa Ynez is a newly remodeled residential ranch home that is offered for the most senior graduates. The beds are full-size, and two of the four rooms are private. The other two hold two men each. This home also contains three bathrooms, living and dining area and gym.
Meals are provided in each of these homes, but communal cooking and cleaning is required. The store is stocked with candy, cigarettes, snacks, drinks, toiletries and a variety of other items.
