R3 House Review

R3 House offers safe and upscale sober living homes in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. These are men’s and women’s facilities which are all PARR certified. These programs have a number of regulations and expectations placed on the clients, including attending 12-step support meetings, outpatient treatment, and learning new life skills.

Accommodations and Amenities

Both the mens’ and womens’ houses feature a number of amenities and comforts including full sized beds in each room with memory foam mattresses, new flooring and carpets in each location, and kitchens with new appliances. The bathrooms are also recently updated and have large showers and new granite countertops. The bedrooms are very spacious, and in some of the homes can accommodate up to four clients who sleep dorm-style.

Common areas in the facilities include a living room with comfy couches and large, flat-screen, 4K TV’s as well as cable, high speed internet, and laundry facilities.

The mens’ home has a huge game room in the basement of the two story house. This includes a ping pong table, pool table, 75” TV with a game console, and HD cable. The women’s house has two full baths with tubs, and a newly installed makeup mirror and desk. There are also added security cameras at this property.

Rules and Regulations

While living at one of the residences clients are expected to attend at least five AA, NA or similar faith-based support meetings in the community, and get a sponsor. Additionally, sponsors are asked to introduce themselves to the other housemates as an added layer of accountability.

Clients have a couple of weeks to live at the home before they need to secure a full time job. The staff helps clients with their resume, job search, practice interviews and other support services. They also offer training in life skills like money management, saving, enrolling in a 401K and, if applicable, registering for college courses. There is a lowered rent rate for clients who can show that they have their 401K or have been enrolled in classes for a period of time.

Other areas of guidance that are provided by the program include conflict mediation, work ethic, and establishing treatment goals.

Extras

R3 hosts sober community dinners at one of the homes for clients to socialize and get to know each other.

In Summary

R3 House is an upscale sober living program that provides their clients with lovely homes that offer structure and day-to-day support.
