Inroads to Recovery Residential Review

Omaha, Nebraska’s Inroads to Recovery is a treatment facility for addiction and mental illness. In addition to the comprehensive outpatient and medication management available, there is also a 30 day residential track for adults. This program offers Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), 12-step support, and evidence-based therapies. Each level of care is based off the individualized treatment plan that the staff implements at the onset of the program, with the opportunity for treatment plan adjustments and step-down options.

Accommodations and Food

The free standing hospital has 20 to 25 beds for men and women, who are placed in gender-specific wings. Each of the double occupancy bedrooms is simply furnished with beds, night stands and dressers. There are also bathrooms in each of the bedrooms.

The facility features common areas throughout, including a lounge space with small tables, chairs and couches, and a TV. There are designated areas outside for clients to smoke.

The on-site cafeteria serves three meals a day. A kitchen staff creates and prepares all menus and the meals are well-balanced. In between meal times there are healthy snacks set out, and coffee is available too.

Treatment and Staff

After the initial assessment clients can expect a combination of group and individual therapy, medication, education, and activities. The residential program is a 30 day or more track. Depending on the needs of each resident, the days are comprised of group sessions that cover relapse prevention, coping skills, and managing emotions and triggers. The program facilitates individual therapy according to need.

Some types of interventions during the 30 day treatment can include MAT to address withdrawal symptoms for clients addicted to opioids, and medication management for dual diagnosis clients. The MAT options are Naltrexone and Suboxone. In some cases, there are clients who need help getting through dangerous alcohol withdrawals with the use of benzos. In general, this process lasts between three days to a week.

AA and NA are offered on site during treatment. Though the addiction treatment uses the 12 steps, it is not considered religious or spiritually based. For clients who want a different kind of support group, Inroads also offers Rational Recovery meetings.

The staff of the residential program is overseen by LADCs, and includes treatment from psychiatrists and other medical professionals.
