Zepf Recovery Center is a treatment facility located in Toledo, Ohio. It offers a number of services for adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness. The FIRST Episode Psychosis outpatient program is for those with disorders like schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder who are experiencing their first psychotic episode. The tracks includes individual therapy, supported education and employment services, psychiatric care and psychoeducation for families. 

Treatment and Staff

The FIRST program offers early intervention and skill building for clients between the ages of 15 to 40 who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder and have been experiencing a psychotic episode for no more than 18 months without being treated. 

This program requires that clients participate in at least two elements of treatment: therapy, education, case management and/or psychiatric care. The individual therapy aspect focuses on goal setting, coping skills, stigma and negative feelings, and preventing relapse. 

Psychiatric support includes medication management. Clients discuss their medication from a psychiatric evaluation at the beginning of treatment, and receive the most effective medications available. 

The six member treatment team includes MSWs and LCSWs. 

Extras

The family program integrates psychoeducation and provides referrals to community support and services. There are also counseling services for family members. 

Employment support and education includes job placement, advocacy, and on the job services. There are also services to help clients continue their education. Case management is available for all clients as well. This connects individuals to community resources in order to gain the necessary skills for independence.
