Adullam House Ministries Review
Adullam House Ministries is a transitional housing program located in Billings, Montana. This program offers men and women who have been incarcerated, and some with violent histories or sex offenders, a new lease on life. They mainly assist residents with building healthy and productive relationships. Adullam House Ministries is a spiritually driven program that is heavily monitored and structured. It’s worth mentioning, it’s only for those who have demonstrated that they are fully committed to changing their lives for the better.
Accommodations and Amenities
There are 35 beds for men in the program, and 15 for women. The facilities are single family homes that are situated throughout Billings. The houses are all equipped with kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms and living rooms. The homes are in residential neighborhoods that are close to public transportation, shops, grocery stores and more. They are also equipped with front and backyards.
In addition to the shared housing, there are also single homes for men who have been convicted of sexual offenses and are not able to find housing otherwise.
Food is provided through donations.
Rules and Regulations
Clients are not made to attend any religious events or maintain any sort of beliefs. However, the home does operate on Christian principles. Every individual in the program has to follow the rules of both the house and their parole officer. The house manager makes sure to assist residents, especially in their first days, get acclimated to the house schedule, and keep them up on their appointments with probation.
The residents have to get a job or maintain a volunteer position during their stay. There is a 10 pm curfew nightly, and unless a job requires that they stay out past that time, this is mandatory.
There is absolutely no drugs or alcohol allowed on the premises. Any person who is not a client in the program are not allowed in the house. There is a lot of social support throughout the program. This entails helping clients find community support meetings, like AA or NA, or assistance finding a job. In some cases, clients may be referred to mental health facilities for counseling.
There is a house manager on site around the clock. There is no set amount of time that clients can remain in this program. They stay until they feel ready to move on, and then in some cases, end up subletting another property owned by Adullam House.
In Summary
Above all, Adullam House is designed for a very specific group of people, and operated by folks who have an extraordinary sense of duty and kindness. Having said that, they still require complete accountability from the clients. This is an option only for those with a real drive and desire to change their lives.
