Mountain Springs Recovery Review

Located about 20 miles north of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mountain Springs Recovery treats adults struggling with addiction and/or co-occurring disorders. It provides a curriculum of care that includes medical detox, gender-specific residential programming, aftercare and specialized tracks for LGBTQ and professionals. Notably, 12-step is a major aspect of the programming.

Accommodations and Food

The Mountain Springs campus offers a peaceful, relaxing and supportive atmosphere in the middle of a scenic Colorado landscape. Since there are only accommodations for six clients at a time, residents enjoy a tight-knit community but plenty of privacy too. Residents share spacious bedrooms equipped with king sized beds, closets, dressers, an ensuite bathroom and stunning views. It’s worth mentioning, the facility permits laptops and electronic devices.

In addition to comfortable accommodations, the facility provides a calming environment and plenty of amenities including an outdoor pool, gazebo, fire pit, outdoor patio, computer lab, a fitness center as well as a recreation room with billiards and a ping pong table.

The facility offers a nutritious and tasty catered menu with a plethora of options for residents with dietary preferences, allergies and restrictions.

Treatment and Staff

Before beginning treatment at Mountain Springs, clients undergo a comprehensive intake assessment that includes a medical and psychiatric exam in addition to an overview of substance use. From there, the team determines the best possible individualized treatment strategy tailored to address the specific needs, goals and circumstances of the person.

When needed, clients transfer into detox. Mountain Springs provides a medical detox program that includes 24/7 supervision and medication that mitigates uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, seizures and hallucinations. The facility utilizes Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) such as Suboxone and methadone for opioid withdrawal. Upon completion, most clients transition into the residential program. While the length of care varies from person to person, most individuals stay for 30 days. There are 60 and 90 day options available.

The facility offers a holistic approach to care that integrates an array of therapies including evidence-based models, holistic practices, 12-step, psychoeducation, and psychiatric assessment and services. Clients engage in individual and group therapy sessions rooted in CBT, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) and EMDR to treat trauma as a causal component of current conditions. Psychoeducation classes focus on relevant topics like addiction, relapse prevention, stress and anger management. Clients also learn a range of life skills to help their transition back into regular life. In addition, residents participate in 12-step and SMART Recovery support groups.

Mountain Springs employs therapists, counselors, addiction specialists, case managers, nurses, psychiatrists and physicians. Dual diagnosis support is available.

Extras

Holistic offerings include massage, meditation, relaxation training and hypnotherapy.

Finally, Mountain Springs believes in the importance of a continued support strategy. Consequently, aftercare for this program involves regular group meetings and support groups.

In Summary

Mountain Springs Recovery is a top notch detox and residential treatment facility just outside of Colorado Springs. Participants can expect a robust, comprehensive curriculum of care that incorporates therapeutic, psychiatric and medical components into individualized care plans tailored to the person. For anyone seeking a veteran staff, holistic approach and beautiful surroundings, Mountain Springs Recovery is a great resource.
