Reno Behavioral Healthcare Review
Reno Behavioral Healthcare has inpatient and outpatient treatment programs for adults and adolescents who are dealing with mental illness. The adult inpatient program is for clients who are 18 and older struggling with concerns like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and psychiatric symptoms associated with substance abuse. Clients reside in a supportive and secure environment while receiving comprehensive and individualized programming.
Accommodations and Food
Adult clients in the inpatient level of care are situated in double occupancy rooms that are spacious and comfortable. The facility provides 103 adult beds throughout the 80,000 square foot hospital that also offers a large gymnasium, fitness center, and outdoor seating areas. Other common areas include lounges for reading and a living room space.
There are washers and dryers on site. Personal devices like cell phones and tablets are not allowed during treatment. However, there are phones clients can use during designated hours.
The cafeteria serves three meals a day. There are several options per meal time. A professional kitchen staff prepares meals fresh, and the fare is healthy and well balanced.
Treatment and Staff
The adult inpatient track focuses on stabilizing clients quickly and getting them on a regimented treatment program. The program consists of daily group therapy, therapeutic activities, expressive therapies, and recreational therapy. Throughout treatment clients build coping and life skills and undergo medication management.
During the initial assessment clients discuss their concerns surrounding their mental health and provide answers regarding their psychiatric and physical history. This also covers any experience with drugs and alcohol, or past traumas. These programs offers trauma-informed care protocols in addition to evidence-based therapies.
Treatment addresses an array of mental illnesses and co-occurring conditions. Clients in this program participate in activities within their unit. The adult inpatient program is individualized, so clients are not required to remain in treatment for any set length of time.
Common treatment approaches in this program are based on CBT, DBT and Solutions Focused Therapies. Group therapy addresses relapse prevention, establishing healthy boundaries, improving communication, family relationships, and identifying triggers.
Staff includes psychiatrists, psychiatric nursing staff, internists, dietitians, recreational therapists, and LCSWs.
Extras
Throughout treatment clients work on their aftercare plan with their assigned therapist. This includes a safety plan, and options to step down to the outpatient care tracks.
Family therapy is available as well.
In Summary
The adult treatment program at Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is very thorough and incorporates traditional treatment approaches while providing a holistic plan for all clients. There is an emphasis on building proper skills and having clients establish a firm foundation in recovery.
