Regain Recovery Review
Regain Recovery is a luxury detox and residential treatment facility located in the UK. With a maximum of five clients at any given time, it is the most personalized experience possible. Programming consists of cutting edge reality therapy and evidence-based modalities. Perhaps most noteworthy is the offering of the facility’s patented Regain Recovery model. The curriculum here is purely therapy based. Clients can anticipate structured daily schedules and a variety of therapeutic activities, while focusing on themselves and a life free from addiction.
Accommodations and Food
The beautiful five acre campus is in North Devon in a quiet and discrete location surrounded by lush greenery, gardens and bountiful orchard. The grounds are close to several recreational hotspots and resplendent local beaches.
Clients live in one of three charming and comfortable cottages, all of which have private bedrooms and are exquisitely furnished. Of the 10 beds available, only five of them are in use at once. These cottages offer all the comforts of home with cozy lounges with TV, small dining rooms and kitchens separate from the living room space. The treatment facility is walking distance from the living quarters.
Clients enjoy their fresh and delicious meals three times a day in the main kitchen on campus. Professional chefs prepare new menus every day. They cater to all dietary restrictions and requirements, and offer ample choices per meal. These exceptionally tasty and balanced meals are an essential element to the treatment program. As a result, they are of the highest nutritional value using local ingredients whenever possible.
Treatment and Staff
The unique treatment model at Regain Recovery aims to provide knowledge and foster empowerment. Consequently, clients completely transform their lives. This begins with a five day, in-depth assessment. Most individuals undergo a medically managed detox program.
Once they are stable, the staff encourages clients to jump right into the residential phase of treatment that begins with group sessions. Regain Recovery is not 12-step based and focuses mainly on individual therapy. Consequently, clients can expect four individual sessions per week. They also have group process and psychoeducational groups, and therapeutic activities.
The group sessions cover relapse prevention, stress management and how the disease of addiction affects the body and mind. Other groups include art and music therapy, mood management and mindfulness. The groups are small in order to ensure plenty of personalized attention.
Treatment approaches include CBT, EMDR and other evidence-based modalities. The program runs seven days a week, though the weekends factor in visitation and outings.
Gerri Creedon founded Regain Recovery. She brings her experience working in the field of addiction to every client who attends treatment. The clinical staff includes a full time nurse, addiction therapists and a consulting physician. There are also family liaison therapists who facilitate the family’s experience with the program, and who participate in aftercare services.
Extras
The campus boasts a spa with a swimming pool and sauna. There is also a fully equipped gym and relaxation space. Clients go on several outings including bowling, pottery making classes, nature walks, and archery. Spending time outdoors in the fresh air is a regular occurrence here.
Clients establish an aftercare program with staff prior to discharge from the facility.
During treatment clients can hold onto their laptops and cell phones, and are able to conduct business.
In Summary
Above all, Regain Recovery is an empowering, comprehensive treatment program that provides a safe and beautiful environment. Residents learn all the necessary skills to live a full and successful life in recovery. The atmosphere promotes a healthy lifestyle and finding joy as a sober person.
