Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment at Honey Lake Clinic, clients first go through an extensive orientation. It includes a medical and family history, evaluation of symptoms and a psychiatric evaluation. They also establish a motivation for recovery. Based off this assessment, a specialized team determines the most effective personalized treatment strategy. From there, clients work with a nutritionist to create a baseline meal plan. This diet is completely customized and can change as the individual progresses.
The Honey Lake Clinic Eating Disorder Program employs a multifaceted approach that integrates a Christ-centered model of care with a range of therapeutic methods including evidence-based therapies, nutrition education and medication management. Clients engage in weekly one on one therapy rooted in CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as group therapy five times a week. Skills groups focus on a range of psychoeducation topics including positive body image, nutrition and mindful eating. Clients also participate with their nutritionist in monitored meals. The goal is for individuals to have new, healthy eating and exercise habits, coping skills and an appreciation of their natural body.
The Honey Lake Clinic Eating Disorder Program employs Master’s-level mental health professionals, pastors, psychiatrists, therapists and a nutritionist and dietitian that specialize in eating disorders.
