Treatment and Staff
Medical detox is the main focus, though clients are always reminded of the benefits of longer term care, and encouraged to stay on to receive the counseling and other services offered to them. All in all, clients can stay at the facility for several months if needed.
The residential program includes group and individual therapy, align with AA and NA meetings on site. Treatment uses CBT and DBT and the main forms of therapy in conjunction to expressive arts therapy. This include music and art therapy, and some dance therapy. There are daily guided meditations, and mindfulness sessions. In addition, clients focus on relapse prevention and dual diagnosis programming that includes medication management.
There is a fairly large staff at this location who are addiction therapists, nurses, doctors and psychologists. A unique aspect of the Cheshire location is that everyone who works at this facility are in recovery themselves. They are able to offer a personalized aspect to becoming sober with their clients.
Extras
There is a fitness center on site that clients have at their disposal. In addition, once the detox process is over and clients are stabilized, there are several group excursions to foster socialization and finding fun in recovery.
There is a family program that offers counseling and education for loved ones.
