The Basics
Based out of Delray Beach, Florida Recovery Group offers addiction and dual diagnosis support in keeping with “The Florida Model” of treatment. To this end, it has a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) plus sober living for adult men. Programming consists of structured daily group and individual therapy and 12-step facilitation, while also integrating the teaching of real world skills and advancing job placement opportunities. This private and intimate PHP is entirely individualized and aims to give clients a safe place to take the first steps in recovery.
Treatment and Staff
In order to be accepted into the PHP all clients have to be free of substances for at least 30 days and not in need of detox. The PHP is a 24 hour a day treatment that typically lasts around 30 days, though in some cases clients stay a bit longer as the length of time in this program is entirely based on how each individual commits to their goal and treatment plan.
There are generally four groups per day that include a process group, psychoeducation, relapse prevention or anger management, or an inspirational session. There are also outside AA or NA meetings that take place off site every evening. During this time clients are also responsible for finding a sponsor. In addition, there are usually one or two individual therapy sessions per week, though depending on the client’s specific needs there may be more.
At the initial assessment clients receive a full medical workup and a psychiatric evaluation. From there clients may receive medication management services for co-occurring disorders. Florida Recovery Group works closely with local agencies and medical doctors, nurses and pscyhiatirstists. In addition, some clients may receive anti-craving medications like Vivitrol and Naltrexone.
The staff of Florida Recovery Group includes LCSWs, LMHCs, CAPs, CACs, primary therapists, behavioral health techs and residential support techs.
Extras
The PHP men’s housing can accommodate up to eight men who share double occupancy bedrooms, some of which have en suite bathrooms. The one story, single family home offers several common areas, like a spacious living room with wrap around couches that is adjacent to the kitchen, which has stainless steel appliances.
During the first 14 days of treatment clients are not permitted to have access to computers or their cell phones, however after that initial time period clients are able to use their personal devices.
All the food is provided throughout the client’s stay. There is a weekly grocery shopping trip residents go on with staff to get the food that they would prefer, and snacks are also allowed.
There are family support services that offer counseling and connection to Al-Anon. The alumni program attends sober events and works as ambassadors to the program for newer clients.
As an added bonus, those who are participating in the PHP receive a gym membership, and go to work out on a regular basis as part of their treatment.

The option to reside in the sober living residence is an added perk. Not to mention, being a part of the continually expanding southern Florida recovery community.
