The Basics
Recovery Revolution is an independent treatment program founded in 2005 by Jana Morris. Located in Bangor, Pennsylvania, the program offers both Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and regular outpatient treatment options for adults and adolescents with a focus on healing the individual mentally, physically and spiritually and building a healthy and sobriety-supportive family system.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP and basic outpatient programs include a combination of individual, group and family counseling. Treatment begins with an assessment followed by the creation of an individualized treatment plan. The IOP consists of six to nine hours of counseling per week and the regular outpatient is one to five hours of counseling per week. Both programs also require at least one hour of individual therapy per week. Group sessions use CBT and cover gender-specific issues, addiction education for beginners, relapse prevention and family group. Recovery Revolution promotes the 12-step philosophy and encourages clients to attend regular meetings. The Life Skills course (18 hours over six weeks) provides clients with tutorials in resume building, banking and parenting skills.
Individuals who need a more intensive treatment track than the IOP may benefit from the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Recovery Revolution. This track is tailored for men and women able to commit to 10 to 18 hours of treatment per week, for a minimum of three hours per day over a period of three to six weeks. This program allows clients to live at home while receiving a higher level of treatment in conjunction with regular 12-step meetings.
RR also offers an intensive family program—the Parents, Partners & Loved Ones Program—that requires a commitment to six consecutive weeks of treatment ($30 per person or $50 per couple) and covers topics such as the disease of addiction, codependency, enabling, and support systems and other tools to help the addict maintain sobriety with the help of family and loved ones.
As an extension of the adolescent programming at Recovery Revolution, a school-based outpatient program brings individual, group and family therapy to local school districts.
In-house Breathalyzer tests and drug screening are available for clients requiring additional accountability on their recovery journey. The staff at Recovery Revolution consists of LPCs, CADCs and MSWs, all with over five years of experience.
Extras
Recovery Revolution offers outreach services and educational groups to promote an understanding of the dangers of substance abuse. With both in-school and annual sobriety events that include speakers, free food and prizes, these programs introduce participants to preventive methods and tips to recognize the trends, traits and terminology of substance abuse.
The DUI program at Recovery Revolution connects first-time offenders with credentialed staff. The organization also offers an outpatient gambling program that entails both individual and group therapy sessions.
In Summary
Recovery Revolution offers a variety of recovery tracks for men, women and adolescents suffering from substance abuse and addiction, including outpatient, IOP and PHP. With a strong community presence, it uses educational programs to enhance support for and understanding of sobriety. Recovery Revolution aims to heal the whole person and invests in their long-term sobriety by helping to build a well-informed environment in the family and the community at large.
