The Basics
Located in College Station, Texas, 3rd Day Treatment Center is an outpatient rehab facility founded in 2015. The organization provides a range of programs for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. In a town that caters to the Texas A&M University clientele, the facility offers flexible outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
All incoming clients undergo an assessment process to help the clinical team develop their individualized treatment plans. Those in need of detox can receive referrals to do so at a local facility before continuing on to therapy. Support for those on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is also available when appropriate. Typically, IOP lasts for eight weeks and meets four days a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8:30 pm. Outpatient care can serve as a step down or a standalone service and typically includes one group per week and individual therapy as needed.
Clients attend both individual and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment practices including CBT and EMDR. The program at 3rd Day Treatment Center is exclusively 12-step oriented. Clients are required to attend AA/NA meetings, obtain a sponsor and begin actively working the 12 steps. Other therapy options include biofeedback and a special relapse prevention curriculum.
Groups sessions aren’t just for therapy; clients can also expect life skills training, yoga, meditation and nutrition education. The life skills group consists of educational lectures using topics including identifying triggers, developing strategies to avoid triggers, utilizing sober support systems, stress management, coping skills, anxiety, anger, self-esteem, and communication. Individuals are given homework assignments as well as group assignments to improve the ability to deal with situations with high relapse potential.
The well-rounded staff at 3rd Day Treatment Center consists of LCSWs, LCDCs, LMSWs, LVNs, RNs and Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
3rd Day Treatment Center implements extensive holistic treatment including massage and art therapy. Personal training, sober coaching services and assessments can also be facilitated.
The family program is designed to assist family members and clients in reorienting and restructuring relationship systems. This component involves family members in an education program, as well as counseling sessions.
