The Basics
Based out of Kirkland, Washington, Residence XII is a CARF-accredited drug and alcohol rehab facility founded in 198. It provides treatment for adult women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The facility accepts clients from all over the Pacific Northwest and has served more than 10,000 women as of publishing. In addition to its more intensive residential treatment options, the organization also offers flexible outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help clinicians develop individualized treatment plans. While on-site detox services are not provided, those in need can get referrals to nearby facilities as necessary. Once stabilized, clients go through either IOP or outpatient care. IOP typically lasts for 24 sessions over the course of eight weeks, while standard outpatient is generally a more flexible, step down option. Both morning and evening meetings are available which typically last for three hours each.
In both of the above, treatment plans consist primarily of group therapy with evidence-based treatment practices including CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with biweekly individual therapy as well. The curriculum is largely based on 12-step philosophy but programming also includes trauma-informed care, dual diagnosis support and teachings from Seeking Safety. Group sessions cover topics including the disease of addiction, guilt and shame, self-esteem, life skills, nutrition and relationship counseling.
The staff at Residence XII consists of LMHCs, LCSWs, LCDCs, LPCs, RNs, psychologists and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
IOP also includes a built-in family program which is open to the public. Family groups are available twice a month for families and friends of those in treatment as well. Free psychological assessments are also available as are alumni groups and stepped down aftercare plans.

Overall, Residence XII’s outpatient plans provide a balanced blend of 12-step integration, evidence-based care and dual diagnosis support. The facility’s programs are individualized and offer flexible lengths of stay.
