The Basics
APEX Recovery Rehab of San Diego is a luxury detox and residential treatment facility that offers evidence-based and holistic treatment approaches for men and women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Programming includes group and individual therapy along with medication management and trauma-informed care, all individualized for each client’s unique needs.
Accommodations and Food
The overall feel at APEX Recovery Rehab’s residential facility is modern and contemporary, furnished and decorated with a youthful, home-like vibe. It’s made up of two co-ed houses that can accommodate up to eight clients each in a combination of private and semi-private rooms, depending on the occupancy rate. Both residences offer spacious and comfortable amenities including living rooms with flat screen TV’s, fireplaces, wrap around couches and outdoor spaces with a pool, spa, outdoor seating areas and courtyards.
All meals are prepared by an in-house chef who focuses on organic and fresh ingredients, including produce grown on-site in the house garden. The meals provide optimal nutritional balance and clients receive coaching from a staff nutritionist.
Treatment and Staff
The individualized treatment all takes place in the house and includes a variety of modalities. The initial stage of treatment requires a seven-day blackout period in which there are no phone call or visits permitted by family members so that the incoming clients are able to focus solely on themselves and sobriety. When warranted, there is a five to seven day medical detox that is supervised by medical staff, and the residential treatment typically lasts about 30 days with the intent to step down the client to an outpatient setting.
Therapeutic approaches include evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and EMDR, in addition to holistic methods like art and music therapy, and equine therapy once a week. There are three group sessions daily and two individual sessions per week. APEX encourages mindfulness approaches and also teaches coping skills and relapse prevention. Case management and aftercare planning can be facilitated, and there are 12-step meetings offered every night, though attendance isn’t a requirement.
The experienced staff of APEX Recovery Rehab is comprised of Master’s-level therapists and medical staff along with holistic treatment professionals. Psychiatrists, CAADCs, CADCs, MFTs, nutritionists, doctors and LPNs all round out the team at this facility.
Extras
There are weekly yoga sessions and massages provided at APEX. A gym membership is also provided. There is also an esthetician that offers facials and other services at the request of the clientele.
Clients have weekend outings as a group with a staff members that can include heading to the local beach, a nature walk or hike and shopping trips.
There are family therapy sessions offered on a weekly basis in addition to treatment tracks that are specifically focused on the LGBTQ community or those who have experienced abuse. Aftercare programming is individualized for each client.
