The Basics

Located in the Los Angeles area, Muse Treatment sober living is the structured living component of Muse Treatment. Luxury sober living in gender-specific homes is provided for those opting to live in a safe environment while they undergo outpatient treatment at the clinical facility. Muse’s treatment continuum is client-centered and treats the causes and conditions of addiction rather than just the symptoms of the disease. This includes traditional therapy, neural recovery and 12-step programming. Muse’s sober living offers structure and support in an upscale environment.

Accommodations and Amenities

Muse has two gender-specific homes that each accommodate no more than 10 clients, all paired in spacious rooms, which include full or queen beds topped with comforters, nightstands, lamps and dressers.

The houses include fully equipped kitchens, living rooms and dining areas. Residents are responsible for their own groceries and meal preparation. Amenities include WiFi, TVs with cable and laundry facilities. House managers live on the premises.

Rules and Regulations

Typically, Muse accepts men and women who have graduated from primary care at Muse or another rehab, and who have a minimum of 30 days of sobriety. Potential applicants undergo a comprehensive interview, and must pass a urine drug and alcohol screen. Upon acceptance, new clients undergo an orientation session with the sober living director.

While living at a Muse sober house, residents must attend the weekly house meeting and the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Muse. During the first 30 days of their stay, clients must abide by a 10 pm curfew, seven days a week. After that time, curfew is midnight seven days a week. After 30 days, clients must attend a minimum of three weekly 12-step meetings, including the house meeting, which has some recovery components. Participation of assigned household chores is also mandatory to ensure that residences are clean and tidy.

Residents must secure employment within 14 days of arrival. Unemployed clients must be out of the house from eight am to three pm, Mondays through Fridays searching for work. Vocational assistance is provided. Those who get nighttime shift jobs that interfere with curfew have to clear those positions with the house managers.

Random drug and alcohol screenings are conducted and residents who relapse must leave the premises immediately to ensure the safety of the household.

Extras

One of the Muse houses hosts a Monday night NA meeting that offers a chance for residents to build a sober support network and fellowship.

Sober living clients can enjoy the same perks as those in the residential program. These include a fitness center membership, and fun sober outings including movies, restaurants, theme parks, local parks and other recovery fellowship activities.

In Summary

Muse offers a high-end sober living option for men and women. The houses are also located close to the beach, plenty of job opportunities, colleges and 12-step meetings. At Muse Treatment, residents have the support they need to rebuild their lives.
