The Basics
The Camden Center is a private outpatient rehab based in Los Angeles that offers a luxury sober living community for men and women. Camden’s upscale, gender-specific houses provide safe, healing environments for early recovery. In addition to its luxury sober living programs, Camden provides flexible outpatient care for those struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Treatment is also available for those with eating disorders, psychotic disorders and borderline personality disorder. The facility was founded in 2011 by Dr. Jason Schiffman, who is an expert on addiction, co-occurring disorders and the founder and Director of the UCLA Dual Diagnosis Program.
Accommodations and Amenities
Silicon Beach Sober Living includes two gender-specific homes. The Hilgard Men’s House is in Westwood, while the Beverly Women’s House is in the lovely Cheviot Hills neighborhood. Both homes are in close proximity to The Camden Center. They are also near the beach, local businesses and college campuses. The beautiful, upscale furnished homes include fully equipped kitchens, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Accommodations vary, but typically clients share private or semi-private bedrooms with queen beds and linens provided. Both of the homes include swimming pools and outdoor lounge areas.
Residents enjoy healthy dinners prepared by on-site chefs. Aside from that, they are responsible for their own groceries and meal preparation.
Rules and Regulations
Clients must be enrolled in treatment at The Camden Center in order to be eligible to stay at one of the houses. They must be at least 18 years old and medically stable. Upon arrival, residents are interviewed about their life goals. They are encouraged to enroll in school or apply for jobs. There is quite a bit of freedom allowed to clients, as long as they are compliant with their individual treatment plan. They are encouraged to attend community recovery meetings, but no prescribed type or number of meetings is required.
Residents must adhere to an 11:30 pm curfew seven days a week. Random drug and alcohol screenings are conducted. Residents who refuse a test or relapse must leave the premises to ensure the safety of the entire household. Staff is on-site 24 hours and can also provide sober mentoring, yoga and fitness coaching.
Extras
Residents at the houses are provided with complimentary gym memberships and transportation to the gym, meetings and The Camden Center.
During their stay, clients have the choice to partake in a number of holistic care options. These include acupuncture, yoga, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
In Summary
The Camden Center transitional living program is designed to compliment the outpatient treatment program and offer clients a safe, structured start to sobriety. This is an excellent option for men and women who need a healthy living environment while they seek treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders.
