The Basics
Atrium Wellness is the luxury detox branch of Satori Waters, a network of substance abuse programs based in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. Atrium offers a short-term inpatient program for those who want to begin recovery in a medically supervised setting that treats addiction and co-occurring disorders, with a focus on holistic methods. Atrium is the latest addition to the Satori Waters family of programs, which began in 2013. The network was founded by psychologists, Dr. Barry Reiman and Dr. Rick Harris, and includes several residential locations in Delray Beach and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Accommodations and Food
The Atrium Wellness facility marries clinical functionality with luxury comfort. There is space for up to 15 clients at a time and each resident gets a private room with a private bathroom and personal flat screen TV. The facility also has on-site medical exam rooms, common areas, an outdoor smoking area and tranquil spaces for clients to hang out.
Atrium has an in-house chef that works with a dietician to ensure each meal is healthy and delicious. Meals and snacks are served family-style and there is a juice bar available for fresh pressed juices.
Treatment and Staff
The programs at Atrium fall into three categories—basic detox, intensive inpatient and residential level one, which can add up to a total stay of 30 days. Basic detox is the first step in the process and usually lasts three to seven days. Intensive inpatient is the next step and offers an additional three to seven days of support for those who are still experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Residential level one is designed for those who are past the physical withdrawal stage, but are still dealing with unstable mental and physical health issues that make it difficult to move to a lesser level of care. This program can take up to 14 days. At any point, clients who are stable can transition to Satori Waters or another residential program. The programs all include a full schedule of group, individual and family therapy each week.
Outpatient detox services are available to those who are addicted to opiates only and who have a strong support system at home. Ideal candidates for the outpatient detox program are unable to leave work and do not have any special medical needs associated with their detox process. This program typically lasts between seven and 14 days and requires group or individual therapy five days a week.
All programs offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for clients experiencing painful physical withdrawal symptoms from opiates or alcohol. Clients in all programs have daily physical exams and medication management. Therapy utilizes evidence-based practices, such as CBT and DBT. Dual diagnosis support in the form of psychiatric care and medication management is offered to clients with co-occurring disorders.
Atrium Wellness teams include physicians, nurses, psychologists, CADCs, MFTs, case managers and support staff. Staff is available 24 hours a day.
Extras
Clients have access to a variety of self-care and holistic treatment options including massage, chiropractic care, music therapy and an in-house hairstylist. Recreational therapy is available in the form of swimming, hiking or yoga.
In Summary
Atrium Wellness offers a luxury detox experience that incorporates nutrition, holistic care, evidence-based practices and MAT. Clients also have the added benefit of the larger Satori Waters network and the option to transfer to residential care at any time, which makes this a great choice for detox in the Fort Lauderdale area.
