The Basics

For more than 10 years, TRAVCO Behavioral Health has provided residents of Northeastern Ohio with mental health and substance abuse counseling. Headquartered in Boardman—just south of Youngstown—TRAVCO also has facilities in Warren and West Union.

TRAVCO’s mission is to help clients change their lives and improve relationships with their families by treating the emotional and behavioral aspects of substance abuse, ultimately becoming healthy and contributing members of their communities.

TRAVCO is CARF-accredited and offers substance abuse treatment at the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) level of care; it receives many of its clients through referrals from county agencies and medical programs.

Treatment and Staff

Clients in the IOP attend group therapy three times a week and have individual therapy as-needed. Most clients complete their treatment plan in four weeks; however, clients needing more support may be able to extend their stay. Therapy uses CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Clients are also encouraged to work the 12 steps while in treatment and their primary counselor may require attendance at a designated number of meetings each week.

The treatment team includes CADCs and psychiatrists, who are experienced in providing dual diagnosis support, including medication management for mental health diagnoses.

TRAVCO offers bilingual treatment services and prenatal addiction treatment services.

TRAVCO Behavioral Health has provided the residents of Northeastern Ohio with low-cost substance abuse and mental health counseling for over a decade. With treatment for co-occurring disorders and peer support requirements, clients are given the opportunity to improve both their mental health and social networks to give them the best chance at success in recovery.
