The Basics

Empower Recovery Center in Laguna Nigel, California is owned and operated by recovery coach and author Lisa Neumann. The facility offers outpatient treatment specializing in substance abuse, trauma therapy and personal empowerment. Programs focus exclusively on individual therapy, utilizing a variety of holistic methods as alternatives to the traditional 12-step approach to addiction treatment. Empower Recovery offers treatment to adult clients as well as provides training for treatment professionals.

Treatment and Staff

Treatment at Empower Recovery Center is offered in two main outpatient programs. The first is a 10-day intensive introduction to recovery. This program entails approximately 10 to 15 hours of therapy. The first appointment is a two-hour intensive exploration of the client’s life and history of addiction. This is followed by several intensive neurofeedback sessions using the Brainpaint approach. These sessions are followed by recovery coaching and goal-setting.

The other structured treatment option is a 12-month program that includes 41 sessions over the course of a year, scheduled according to a client’s needs. These include neurofeedback, goal setting and ThetaHealing—which is a form of energy healing. Life coaching is also offered on an a la carte basis as part of an individualized treatment plan.

Clients with dual diagnosis are welcome to seek help here but they will not receive therapy from a licensed psychiatrist or be prescribed medication. 

Neumann is a certified life skills coach, bio-energetic healer and the author of Sober Identity: Tools for Reprogramming the Addictive Mind, published in 2011. She has specialized training in ThetaHealing and BrainPaint techniques and has been clean and sober since 2004.

Extras

In addition to individualized care, Empower Recovery Center offers services for treatment centers. These include on-site neurofeedback services performed by Neumann at the facility using portable equipment as well as referrals for outpatient care at Empower Recovery Center as part of an aftercare program.
