The Basics
Redeemed in Gadsen, Inc. is located in Quincy, Florida—a small town in Gadsen County, in the Tallahassee Metropolitan Area. Redeemed was founded in 1998 and provides outpatient substance abuse treatment as well as several other youth, adult and family supportive services for at-risk families. Redeemed was founded by Reverend Annie Britt-Berry, MHC and CAP.
Treatment and Staff
After an assessment, clients receive a treatment plan that includes group and individual therapy. Most clients attend one or two groups each week and have individual therapy once a week. Groups are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The average treatment plan is six weeks long, but clients may extend their plan if they feel they’d benefit from more support.
Therapy uses CBT and the Matrix Model, and groups address handling triggers, relapse prevention and coping skills. The treatment team, which includes MSWs and CAPs, address co-occurring disorders in therapy, but refer clients in need of comprehensive dual diagnosis support to area mental health clinics. Clients are encouraged to attend peer support meetings while in treatment (such as NA/AA or Celebrate Recovery), and the treatment team may make attendance a requirement for some clients.
Extras
Clients are encouraged to bring family members to individual therapy if they think it would be beneficial. Once they’ve completed treatment, clients are welcome to attend groups and check in with their primary counselor periodically for aftercare.
Redeemed in Gadsen’s additional programs include re-entry services for parolees and a food pantry. It also teaches the Strengthening Families curriculum, a 14-session evidence-based program that teaches communication and life skills to high-risk families.
In Summary
For nearly 20 years, Redeemed in Gadsen, Inc. has helped North Florida families combat substance abuse, hunger and the effects of incarceration. Its outpatient program provides evidence-based therapy with flexible treatment plans, ensuring that clients learn new coping skills in a responsive and supportive atmosphere.
