The Basics
Quinco Mental Health was founded in 1976 in Bolivar, Tennessee, a small town west of Memphis. The organization offers outpatient substance abuse treatment in two loactions, as well as support for co-occurring disorders, to adolescents and adults.
Treatment and Staff
Quinco is willing to work with clients who don’t have insurance, even if that means finding state-funded resources. The facility does not provide detox or any form of residential treatment.
The program consists of both group and individual counseling; however, the exact length and intensity of treatment is based on an individual assessment. Groups are one-hour and consist of three to 12 clients. Counselors use a variety of treatment techniques including DBT and relapse prevention. Quinco also offers gender-specific groups that provide clients with a safe space to explore men’s and women’s issues. Individual counseling is scheduled upon request only.
Clients with a dual diagnosis are offered additional support via individual and group sessions with mental health counselors. There is also a psychiatric nurse practitioner who services clients with co-occurring disorders.
Though the organization is not 12-step based, counselors encourage clients to attend outside AA/NA meetings and secure a sponsor while in treatment
The organization’s counselors consist of LPCs, LCSWs and LMFTs.
Extras
Quinco offers special groups for court-ordered adolescents, offered in the afternoons and evenings to accommodate academic schedules.
