The Basics
Parker Counseling and Education Services was founded in 2008 in Parker, Colorado, a home rule municipality in Douglas County just southeast of Denver. The organization provides outpatient substance abuse treatment to adult men and women in the Parker area.
Treatment and Staff
The intake process at Parker begins with an initial phone call followed by a meeting with one of the organization’s counselors to help determine the individual’s potential level of care. Individuals then meet with a counselor to chart out a potential treatment plan. Individuals who are unstable are going through withdrawal are referred to outside residential or detox facilities.
Parker’s outpatient program consists of both group and individual therapy. The exact length and intensity of the program is based on the counselor’s assessment of the client’s need. Group meetings are scheduled in the evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The groups last for two hours and usually consist of around 10 clients per session. Parker utilizes a multi-modal approach to address the emotional, physical, cognitive and relational aspects of clients’ lives in therapy sessions. Counselors use a variety of evidence-based treatment techniques including CBT and relapse prevention. Parker also offers groups that focus on anger management and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC). Individual therapy is scheduled accordingly for each person depending on their needs and circumstances. Parker also offers Spanish bilingual therapy options for clients.

The organization is dual diagnosis and offers individual mental health sessions for clients with potential co-occurring disorders.
The staff at Parker consists of LMFTs, MSWs and LPCs.
