The Basics
The Brattleboro Comprehensive Treatment Center is a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) facility located in Southern Vermont. All services are tailored to adults who are experiencing difficulties with opioid dependence. Treatment is individualized to the client and available on an outpatient basis, allowing for flexibility with scheduling so clients may recover while maintaining life, work and family schedules. Therapy services are also available for clients to take advantage of in support of comprehensive recovery while undergoing MAT.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Brattleboro Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
In order to enroll in Brattleboro’s detox program, each client must meet with the medical and psychiatric team to determine the level of care needed. A full screening and assessment process is in place to ensure the right amount and type of medication is administered. Depending on the assessment, clients are prescribed Methadone, Suboxone or Subutex. Medication is constantly monitored to ensure the client is benefiting from treatment and dealing with cravings accordingly.
Utilization of evidence-based therapy is available for those who wish to participate in additional supportive services, giving them the opportunity to look at themselves and their behaviors objectively. Education about addiction and the process of withdrawal is transmitted in a group setting. Through group and individual therapy, each client gradually works towards recovery. Participating in therapeutic activities is not a requirement, but clients are strongly encouraged to attend. If they do not want to attend, they are referred to community 12-step meetings for peer support. Additional resources are available for those clients who are not comfortable with AA/NA.
Therapeutic activities are facilitated by LADCs and Master’s-level clinicians. Clients are also seen by medical doctors and a nursing staff for medication management and other health concerns that may or may not be affected by the medication. Clients come to the facility for their dosage as well as therapy.
Extras
Referrals are available upon request. All counselors and medical staff can direct their clients towards community resources for care, housing and additional support during their recovery process.
In Summary
Brattleboro Comprehensive Treatment Center gives clients the opportunity to heal from crippling opioid addiction with a professional staff and MAT. Each client’s unique medication needs are met and traditional group and individual therapy as well as referrals to community support groups are facilitated to help clients find their freedom from active addiction.
