Rise Again Recovery and Wellness

The Basics

Rise Again Recovery and Wellness is an adult substance abuse treatment program located in Miami, Florida. With a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), clients can choose from a day or evening outpatient treatment schedule to accommodate work and family responsibilities. Using evidence-based treatment, Rise Again’s recovery tracks provide individualized plans with special support for clients with co-occurring disorders.

Treatment and Staff

Rise Again specializes in treating adults with co-occurring disorders who needs a flexible, individualized treatment plan. After a screening and assessment is completed, the client enrolls in either the more intensive PHP track or the less intense IOP option,  depending on needs and the severity of the diagnosis. Both programs use a range of therapeutic techniques to treat substance abuse and other mental health concerns.

Rise Again employs CBT, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), existential therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI). The average length of treatment is 30 to 60 days. PHP clients receive a total of 24 hours of individual therapy, group therapy and psychoeducation per month, while IOP clients receive 15 hours of the same therapeutic mix. During the week, clients attend daily group therapy with topics including stress management, relapse prevention, conflict resolution, education, life skills and codependency as well as family program groups. Groups typically last for one hour to an hour and a half and are conducted by a CADC.

There is a reward system at Rise Again. Clients who complete assignments and pass specific goal-posts are granted use of a game room, which includes a Nintendo Wii, Xbox, Playstation and more traditional games like air hockey and ping pong. IOP clients have two hours of game room time and trust-building exercises twice per week, while PHP clients have two hours  four times per week.

All clients receive one hour per week of individual therapy with their counselor. The case manager assists clients with legal issues, housing needs and employment services if needed. Also on staff is a registered dietitian who helps to create meal plans and teach healthy eating skills. Clients are encouraged to attend on-site nightly 12-step meetings.

Extras

Rise Again offers art therapy groups every week to help clients learn to express themselves in new ways. Alumni are always welcome to attend groups and support new clients during their first days of recovery. Many alumni host gatherings outside of the facility as well that are organized through the alumni Facebook page, encouraging fellowship and a sober-supportive environment.
