The Basics

Located in Muncie, Indiana, Meridian Health Services is a progressive healthcare company that, among many other services, offers outpatient treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. Though medically-based, Meridian Health Services is unique in that it offers individualized plans designed to treat the whole-person by facilitating physical, mental and social recovery.

Treatment and Staff

After undergoing an initial screening and assessment, clients work with staff member to find the treatment track that best suits their needs. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes both group and individual therapy using evidence-based practices, such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as psychoeducation. IOP generally meets at least three times a week, for three hours at a time; however, depending on their program, some clients may attend less. Though not a requirement, all are encouraged to attend off-site 12-step meetings during treatment. Family therapy and case management are available as necessary.

Staff consists of MDs, psychiatrists, LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCs, case managers and other Master’s and PhD-level clinicians. Additionally, a full spectrum of psychiatric services are available for clients with co-occurring disorders.

Extras

Though Meridian offers a wide array of medical services, other addiction related services include social skills workshops and programs for gambling addiction and smoking cessation.

Aftercare is available in form of outpatient treatment at a stepped down frequency.

Overall, Meridian Health Services is an expansive organization that takes a progressive approach to treatment for chemical dependency and dual diagnosis. Clients are carefully screened and offered a full continuum of care designed for whole-person recovery.  While the price of treatment may vary, Meridian Health Services remains a unique and valuable resource for myriad physical, mental, social and behavioral health services.
