The Basics
Right Road Recovery Program is an outpatient treatment facility with two California locations—one in Redding and the other in Anderson, both serving the Sacramento area community. Utilizing a social model of treatment, recovery programs are available for both adults and adolescents.
Right Road offers a total of five different programs available—all licensed and certified by the state of California. Court-ordered and self-referred clients are welcome and gender-specific groups for women are available as is Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) using Suboxone. All treatment programs incorporate the 12-step framework.
Treatment and Staff
All programming is facilitated on an outpatient basis. Before being admitted, clients are assessed to ensure an outpatient program is suitable to their unique recovery needs. There is no medical detox, but the Suboxone support program is available for clients who are in need of MAT.
The clinical staff utilize a social model to create a sense of community among the clients. Also incorporating the 12-step principles, clients are introduced to AA meetings and the process of the steps. If clients are not comfortable with 12-steps, they are encouraged to pursue other peer-support groups.
Individualized treatment enables clients to progress through the programs at their own pace. A flexible schedule allows clients to attend treatment in their own time, allowing them to maintain work, school and family responsibilities. The facilities are open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 7 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm. Each program incorporates group therapy to help clients process through their early recovery. Clients learn relapse prevention skills, coping skills and social skills. Clients enrolled in the Women’s Covington program exclusively attend groups with other female clients. This group meets for a total of 17 sessions and focuses on gender specific issues.
The DEJ program is a five-month track that helps clients who have plead guilty to substance-related charges and gives them a chance to change their conviction. Successful completion is based on good attendance and participation. Psychoeducation courses, group and individual therapy are all integral components of this track. The AB109 Adolescent program is for adolescent parolees in need of intervention and recovery skills.
Right Road Recovery Programs has six staff members, all with the CADC credentials.
Extras
Right Road also offers a “Triple P” parenting program which helps parents to be assertive and supportive to their children who are at risk or displaying illicit negative behavior. The family program helps clients and their families recover together.
Additionally, every September, Right Road organizes a sober softball tournament. The facility plays against other area facilities and promotes a sense of community and fellowship in recovery.
In Summary
Right Road Recovery Programs offers outpatient treatment for adolescents and adults. Most of the programs focus on recidivism reduction and teaching important recovery skills. A women’s program as well as MAT are available in addition to other tracks that help parents learn how they can support their children through difficult behavior and difficulties with school. All staff members are credentialed and work to support clients with their unique recovery needs.
