The Basics
Fayette County Drug and Alcohol Commission (FCDAC) has been providing behavioral health and addiction treatment services to Uniontown, Pennsylvania and its surrounding communities since 1974. Located just outside of Pittsburgh, clients have access to the beautiful rural areas of Pennsylvania as well as the resources of a large city. FCDAC offers several outpatient substance abuse treatment programs including a detox program and a co-occurring disorders program.
Treatment and Staff
FCDAC offers an outpatient detox for opiate dependent individuals who wish to remain at home while they receive treatment. In order to receive Buprenorphine, clients must attend at least four and a half hours of therapy per week for at least six weeks. Clients admitted into this program must also have a strong support system at home.
FCDAC also offers a co-occurring disorders program for those who have a mental health issue in addition to their addiction. The MISA (Mental Illness and Substance Abuse) program offers treatment to clients suffering from any number of mental illnesses including anxiety, depression, anger management, mood disorders, schizophrenia and eating disorders. The program consists of two group sessions per week for at least six weeks but can last up to 20 weeks.
Individual and family therapy are scheduled separately between client and counselor. Twelve-step recovery principles are implemented here so AA/NA groups are offered on-site at various times throughout the week. The staff at FCDAC consists of a psychiatrist, RNs, LADCs, LPCs and LSWs.
Extras
In addition to the comprehensive outpatient detox and dual diagnosis treatment program, FCDAC also offers a variety of other addiction related treatment and aiding services. Other services include a gambling addiction treatment program, a tobacco treatment unit, an education and prevention program, a DUI/ Intervention program and case management services.
In Summary
The substance abuse treatment programs offered by Fayette County Drug and Alcohol Commission are intended for those seeking treatment for opiate dependency or for co-occurring disorders. Both evidence-based therapies and 12-step groups give clients a well-rounded approach to what is hopefully long-term sobriety and recovery.
