The Basics
Founded in 2004, Lasting Recovery is an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility Located in San Diego, California. Lasting Recovery offers individualized Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and standard outpatient treatment.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment, clients are placed in a program that best suits their needs. The PHP track is designed for those dealing with co-occurring disorders and includes both medical and psychiatric support. Though IOP is similar, clients who enter this program are expected to have been physically and mentally stabilized, and suffering from mild mental health issues, if any. Morning and evening sessions are offered for all programs. Random and regular drug testing is conducted. Programs consists of individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices such as CBT. An introduction to the 12 Steps, as well as acupuncture, yoga, poetry therapy, nutritional groups and occupational therapy are also offered.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is available for clients to receive non-narcotic alternatives for cravings, depression, anxiety and sleep disturbances. The belief is that these problems, when untreated, can lead to a relapse. Common medications to facilitate recovery include Naltrexone for drug and alcohol cravings, Gabapentin (Neurontin) for anxiety and insomnia and antidepressants for depression. Suboxone or Naltrexone may also be recommended by the medical director for clients suffering from opiate dependence. All clients on MAT are required to see medical staff weekly.
Staff includes psychologists, psychotherapists, MFTs, MDs, RNs and CADCs.
Extras
Once treatment is completed, clients can also continue on to aftercare groups, which include the above-mentioned modalities at a stepped down rate, for one-year. Groups meet weekly for 90-minutes and cover relapse prevention topics. Additional family support and educational sessions are also available.
