San Diego Center for Change

The Basics

San Diego Center for Change is an outpatient program in San Diego, California providing addiction treatment and case management services for court-ordered clientele. The facility is one of several subsidiaries of Mental Health Systems, an expansive, california-based behavioral health organization serving the community since 1978.

Treatment and Staff

Clients are admitted into the program by a direct referral from the court system; however, it is not open to those charged with serious violent or sexual offenses.

All treatment plans are individualized but work within the structure of individual and group therapy using the evidence-based methods of CBT and REBT. Traditional 12-step philosophies are also incorporated into treatment and support for co-occurring disorders is available. Individual case managers assist with employment, education and job training. Clients are required to stay in the program a minimum one year and submit to regular and random drug testing. If necessary, clients may be referred to detox, residential treatment or placement in a sober living.

The staff includes CATCs, psychotherapists, Master’s-level counselors and case managers.

Extras

Once treatment is complete, all clients are required to attend six months of aftercare.
