The Basics
Founded in 2014, the Ohio Addiction Recovery Center offers inpatient substance abuse treatment as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and sober living. The facility also offers dual diagnosis support and incorporates the 12-step modality in the individualized treatment it provides in Columbus, Ohio.
Accommodations and Food
Ohio Addiction Recovery Center operates a small treatment facility with 12 beds available for the residential program. Clients bunk two to each gender-specific room. Transportation to and from the facility where group therapy takes place is arranged and provided by the facility. All meals are provided, cafeteria-style, for those in the inpatient program.
Sober living is provided in a large house for those clients who gain employment and thus move into phase two of the program. There are eight beds available and $125 per week covers rent, utilities, Netflix and gym membership ($150 for private rooms). In this phase, clients must provide their own food. A curfew of 10 pm is enforced. Clients are to take part in four off-site AA/NA meetings per week, as well as three group sessions on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays between 6 and 9 pm.
Treatment and Staff
The on-site detox at Ohio Addiction Recovery Center may last five to seven days, depending on the substance. The short-term use of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is available if necessary, but clients are encouraged to gradually withdrawal from all substances. The goal of detox is for clients to regain physical and mental health and transition into more intensive drug treatment to tackle the underlying causes of their addiction.
Residential treatment runs Mondays through Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm and a typical stay lasts 30 days. Treatment includes CBT, DBT and holistic and solution-based therapy, as well as recreational therapy and adventure therapy. The Ohio Addiction Recovery Center IOP runs two small group sessions and has each client take part in one individual session per week. Continuing care takes over after five to eight weeks of IOP treatment, stepping down to one therapy session per week, on Mondays.
Ohio Addiction Recovery Center has a medical doctor on staff who specializes in addiction treatment. They also employ a number of LCSWs, clinical therapists and have a residential manager on-site.
Extras
On Thursdays, residential and sober living clients may take part in equine therapy, which is offered in individual sessions as well as in groups. On Saturdays clients may take part in activities such as bowling, other games and outings.
In Summary
Ohio Addiction Recovery Center offers a wide range of treatment options. Residential treatment means an investment of $14,000 for the first month of the program. What sets Ohio Addiction Recovery Center apart is that those who need longer term treatment can get six to nine months of it for only $30,000. The only stipulation is that after the first 30 days client must still pay weekly rent if they decide to stay in Ohio Addiction Recovery Center sober living housing. This is a great choice for those who need a very structured long-term plan for recovery.
